What Is The Credit Card Security Code?

The card security code (CSC) is often referred to as the card verification value or CVV or CVV2. The security code can be found in different places depending on the type of credit card. For Master Card, Visa, and Discover, the three digit security code can be located on the back of the card within the signature box. The security code will be the last three digits of the number printed in the signature box. American Express has a four-digit security code located on the front side just above the credit card number on either the right or left side of the card.
