Game Description

Are you a strategic planner? This game consists in counting the number of moves necessary for bells to shift from an initial configuration to the desired configuration. Create a plan of action by using your reasoning skills.

Cognitive Function Exercised

The area of the brain at play is the one that controls for executive functioning located in the pre-frontal cortex. This is a problem-solving type of exercise. You need to plan your action, strategize your next move and organize feedback information. This exercise also consists of mentally calculating the necessary moves while inhibiting incorrect ones.

Benefits to Daily Life
Your logical reasoning capacities help you solve little or big problems, everyday. Without necessarily knowing it, you notably analyze the context and the goal to reach in order to build up hypotheses and consider the possible consequences of action and decision-taking. Your reasoning capacities enable you to react appropriately to unusual situations, or build up strategies when faced with unexpected events, i.e. when your computer displays an error or your chess adversary makes a surprising move. Naturally, when you have to solve a new problem you often try to use a solution that has worked to solve a similar problem but it may not always be 100% successful! This exercise, in essence, consists of mentally calculating the necessary moves.

Planning a family vacation, managing a household with multiple children, organizing your closet, cooking a three course meal are just a few examples of activities that involve executive functioning.
