Welcome to HAPPYneuron's 2009 Winter Release

We have introduced some great new features that are designed to improve your overall cognitive cross-training experience.

These new features can be found in the Games, in your Performance Profile and in the Brain Workout Session. Let's review each of them here ...

The Games

Cognitive Areas Trained

You'll notice new Cognitive Areas Trained information as you enter each game. Did you know that the process of understanding which cognitive brain areas are exercised in the game and which parts of your brain ‘light up’ when playing the game can actually enhance your performance? Just like when you focus on your breathing while exercising can enhance your performance.

Peer Results

You'll see a new Peer Results screen the end of each game. The Results and Comparison information has been combined and presented in a more intuitive graphics format. This feature offers more opportunity to review your performance relative to your peers*.

game exercises now have soundSound has been introduced to the cognitive exercises for additional audio feedback on actions performed and on the announcement of correct or incorrect results. It's a known fact that some people respond better to sound feedback and others respond better to written feedback. Now you have both. Note that this sound feedback feature is entirely optional. It can be turned on/off with one click at the bottom left corner of any game.

* A Note about Peer Comparisons

Peer GroupPeer Group Age, gender and education level are the three primary variables that influence your cognitive reserve and your natural cognitive orientation. Therefore from a cognitive performance perspective, your peers are people of the same age, gender and education level as you and they can be expected to have a similar cognitive performance as you. Therefore, scientifically, it is essential that all comparisons relative to others are performed factoring these 3 important data points. With over 18M comparison points in the HAPPYneuron database, these comparisons are very accurate.
